Shampoo

The trick to bathing a cat successfully, is starting with the correct tools! Your shampoo choice is the first tool to really asses. In our cat exclusive salon we do a first round of degreasing shampoo, then based on how greasy a cat is we either repeat that or skip straight to a finishing shampoo.

Clarifying & degreasing shampoo

Goal:
Washed grease and grim build up from skin surface and coat.

Medicated, soothing, & specialty Shampoo

Goal:
Aids in calming skin, pest control and or fungal protection.

Finishing Shampoo

Goal:
Offers coat conditioning to protect coat from future damage, & lock in moisture.

Clarifying & Degreasing Shampoos:

These shampoos are used to clean, strip away extra grease and remove grim from the coat.

While grooming isn't necessarily a regulated field requiring a degree to get into... it is a field that allows you to see a wide variety of talents and skills. Since there are no licensing requirements it is imperative that owners take it in their own hands to research who they are trusting their kitty with!
